21 March 2020
Aratoi is closed to the public until further notice.
This decision was made after careful consideration to protect our community from the risk of Coronavirus Covid-19 and to support the efforts across Aotearoa to reduce the risk of transmission.
Our office remains open with staff continuing to work and care for our Taonga. We will constantly review the situation and follow the guidance of health authorities. Any updates will be shared as they become available.
Thank you for your understanding and your ongoing support.
Tēnā koa tiaki ia koe / Please take care of yourself and stay well.
Kia kaha from the team at Aratoi.

Arts and culture have the ability to uplift and to empower and provide hope and a sense of belonging during these difficult times. We are confident in the processes prescribed by the Ministry of Health and believe that staying home if ill, being mindful of social distancing and a commitment to hand hygiene are best practise. We have increased our hygiene procedures to ensure our visitors can continue to enjoy our exhibitions.
Our approach and arrangements will be constantly reviewed, and we will share updates as they become available.
Thank you for your understanding and your ongoing support.

Aratoi takes the health and welfare of visitors, staff and volunteers very seriously.
We are following the Ministry of Health advice guidelines on novel coronavirus and encourage all of our visitors to do the same.
While the risk of contracting the virus in New Zealand remains low, we are monitoring and managing the risks for all our activities and provide updates as new information comes to hand. Currently all scheduled events and programmes will go ahead as planned and updates will either be emailed or posted on the Aratoi Facebook page.
