It is a truism that faced with a common or familiar scene, every photographer will have their own idea about how to convey what they see or feel.

Photography has been more than simply pointing a lens at a scene and documenting it.  Clever use of composition, camera settings, and development techniques have always allowed a photographer to stamp their own personality on their photograph.  The tools available to modern photographers provide further amazing opportunities to convey their ideas and emotions on print.

Six by Three’ is an exhibition of photographs that explores these ideas.

Tim McMahon, Jim Graydon and Peter McNeur each present six photographs, all taken in the Wairarapa, that illustrate our different ways of communicating moods or big ideas about familiar environment; the coast, mountains and the influence of people on our landscapes.
