One Post Card a Day.

In May 2013, Greytown artist Steffen Kreft went back to his home country Germany where he set himself the goal to create, write and send one postcard each day for an entire year. The only restriction was that each art work had to fit on a 15 x 10 cm post card, but each day he could spontaneously choose a style and a technique to work with. A satisfying marriage of form and function, this project brought together the disciplines of diary writing, creating free artworks and corresponding with friends, and made these a part of daily life.
His cards used collage, drawing, painting, mixed-media, photography and other techniques. The result of the year was a beautiful collection of art works that depict the artist’s personal journey over the year.

As part of 2015’s Kokomai Festival, Aratoi is showing the entire collection of 365 postcards in its window Gallery, and several art works that are based on the original project.
